SAS23 MY21 Essence Wagon 5dr Auto 10sp FWD 1.5T/90.0kW Hybrid The Chinese-owned British brand MG has a strong contender on its hands with the 5-star safe, well-built, well-equipped and commodious mid-size MG HS. With competitors Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5 and Nissan X-Trail, the HS range offers base Vibe, mid-spec Excite, Essence, Core, top-spec Anfield and a plug-hybrid. Power in non-hybrids comes from a 119kW/250Nm 1.5-litre turbo four driving the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox while the hybrid adds a 90kW/230Nm electric motor to punch out a combined output of 189kW/370Nm through 10 electronically-controlled gear ratios. The fully-electric range is claimed at 52km and a complete home-charge takes about five hours. MG claims up to 1.7L/100km fuel economy.
Anti Lock Brakes
ABS brakes automatically sense when a tire has stopped rotating under extreme braking, and will modulate the brake pressure to allow the tire to rotate.This increases the vehicles ability to turn while braking.
Stability Control
Stability control automatically senses when the vehicles handling limits have been exceeded and reduces engine power and/or applies select brakes to help prevent the driver from losing control of the vehicle.
Front Impact Airbags
Front-impact airbags for the driver and passenger have been designed to protect the head during a frontal crash.
Side Impact Airbags
Side impact airbags for the front seats have been designed to protect the torso during a side impact collision.
Overhead Airbags

Seatbelt pretensioners automatically tighten seatbelts to place the occupant in the optimal seating position during a collision.
Anti Whiplash
Anti-whiplash head restraints actively react to rear collision forces and craddle the occupants head in an effort to reduce the likelihood of a whiplash injury.
Security System
The vehicle is equipped with a means of anticipating and/or detecting unwanted vehicle intrusion. The vehicle is equipped with an ignition disable device that will prevent the engine from starting if the correct original manufacturer key is not used.
